Privacy

The short version: no account, no adverts, no tracking cookies. Your progress stays on your own device. The only things that leave it are a feedback message, if you send one, and what any website needs to load its pages.

What stays on your device

The course keeps these in your browser’s storage, on your device only. They are never sent anywhere:

• your progress through the modules, practice results and review schedule;
• your concept quiz answers;
• sights you enter in “Work your own sight”;
• your settings, such as red light and whether you take sights in the simulator;
• work in progress: answers you have typed into a problem, and your place in a practice round, a passage or the final assessment (kept for two weeks);
• the position you give for tonight’s star sights, and an unsent feedback draft.

Because they are only on your device, they do not follow you to another phone or computer, and clearing your browser’s site data deletes them.

Your position

The “Tonight” panel can use your device’s location to work out tonight’s twilight, but only if you press the button and allow it. The position is used on your device and kept there; it is never sent to anyone. You can type a position instead.

Feedback

If you send feedback, your message goes by email to the Asterodos team, through a form service called Web3Forms. Unless you uncheck the box, it also includes the page you were on, the practice problem and the answers you typed, and a description of your device and browser. Your email address is included only if you give it, and is used only to reply. Feedback is used only to improve the course and is never sold or shared. To have a message deleted, contact the team at hello@asterodos.com, or use the feedback page.

Hosting

The website is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it handles your IP address and basic request details to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks; the course itself does not record them. The fonts are part of the app, so no font service sees your visit.

Statistics

The course does not currently collect any usage statistics. If it starts to, it will use a service that sets no cookies and records no personal details, and this page will say so first.

Children

The course is not aimed at children under 13, and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes and questions

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. For any question about your data, contact the team at hello@asterodos.com, or use the feedback page.

Delete everything on this device

This removes your progress, quiz answers, saved sights and settings from this browser. It cannot be undone.
